This is a new role within the business and is expected to grow and evolve over time.The Group Shipping and Logistics Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising the complete supply chain process for our Company. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of automotive parts and vehicles. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, experienced in logistics management, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.Job purposeReporting to the Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for the control and management of all customs matters relating to Harris Group.The Role:Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesThis role is expected to grow and evolve over time and whilst the key responsibilities for the role are outlined below they are not limited to same.Plan, coordinate, and monitor all shipping and logistics operations from point of origin to final delivery point.Preparation of all paperwork relating to Customs matters i.e. Imports & Exports for Harris Group. Oversee the import and export of motor vehicles and automotive parts, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations and documentation requirements.Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support the company's growth objectives.Monitor performance metrics and prepare regular reports on shipping status, costs, and service quality for senior management.Deal with shipping companies in obtaining release orders for the release of vehicles/ containers for deliveryResolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, customs clearance, or supplier deliveries promptly and effectively.Complete Intrastat and Vies returns on a monthly basis for the various Companies within Harris Group and declare all goods being imported/exported within the European UnionOrganise collections from various companies within Europe for our Parts department.Negotiate contracts and rates with transportation and shipping providers to ensure cost savings and service quality.Liaise with our Finance department with regards to arranging paymentsOrganise collections of vehicles from relevant Port.Person specificationYou will be joining a dynamic, rapidly expanding organisation so we are looking for a candidate with the passion to take full ownership of all things Shipping related for Harris Group.As the ideal candidate you will demonstrate a strong, stable and productive career within Shipping Management.You will have a proven track record of the control and management of customs matters ideally within the automotive industry.Essential Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years in a similar Shipping role is requiredMotor industry experience is preferableStrong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures and freight forwardingMust be familiar with AIS/AEP systemsStrong technical and IT skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong relationship builder and team playerPlanning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of tasks and activitiesProven negotiation and vendor management skills.Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.Excellent attention to detailInitiative and decisivenessProblem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic levelA flexible and adaptable approach to workDemonstrated ability to multitask and perform under pressure to tight deadlinesPositive 'can do' attitudeThe Package:Excellent package on offer for the right candidate to include:Competitive basic salaryDefined Contribution Company Pension Plan matching up to 5%25 days annual leaveEmployee Assistance ProgramCycle to Work SchemeFree on-site parkingCompany laptopCompany phoneJob Type: Full-timeLanguage:English (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In person
