Key Account Specialist (Ocean Freight)
Location: Dublin 9
Terms: Full-time permanent, initially office-based with hybrid (2 days WFH) available after 6 months, Mon-Fri, normal working hours
Package: €42,000 + 22 Days Hols + Pension + Benefits
You will be responsible for delivering premium Ocean Freight services to key accounts, executing contracts and providing efficient solutions to meet service KPIs.
As a Key Account Specialist, you will act as the escalation point for cases that cannot be resolved by the Customer Service team.
You will support Key Account Executives by providing insights into service performance, quality, and other valuable data.
In addition to the major responsibilities detailed in this job description, the job holder will carry out any other duties or projects assigned by the company.
The role requires flexibility on hours of work in accordance with operational business needs to assist the department to meet its KPIs.
Key Areas of Responsibility
You are responsible for executing contracted service solutions for key accounts, aiming at achieving (premium) service KPIs.
You will actively cooperate with the customer's local level stakeholder in a highly professional and efficient manner, meeting high service expectations.
In case the assigned Key Account Support or Customer Care team cannot resolve a case, challenge, enquiry or complaint, you will be the escalation point.
You will support Key Account Executive(s) by supplying them with insights on service performance, service quality, market trends, leads, business potential etc.
Tender Management, spot rate inquiries & customer onboarding / contract maintenance may also be part of your tasks.
Support digital transformation by utilising and promoting the e-commerce platform and self-service tools as applicable and relevant to your tasks and responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years of recent commercial experience within an Ocean Forwarding or Container Shipping company.
* Knowledge of sales and logistics is crucial for effectively managing key accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is a plus.
* Proven experience in key account management, preferably in operations, logistics, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics operations.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
* Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
* Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
