Trainee Home Care Support Worker South Dublin - November 2025 Academy
Hibernia Home Care invites applicants to join its Trainee Home Care Support Worker South Dublin - November 2025 Academy. The Academy offers 12 fully-sponsored spaces in Dublin 12, commencing November 2025. Applicants from South Dublin can apply. This is a pathway for those who would like a career in home care but do not yet have QQI qualifications. Coursework, Induction, Shadowing and Mandatory Health and Safety Training will take place in classroom settings over several weeks. Successful applicants will be paid for time in the classroom, during orientation in the community, and then progress to full employment.
The candidates who are shortlisted for a space on the training academy must:
* Be available to attend the training on site in Kimmage, Dublin 12 over 2 full weeks in November.
* Full Clean Driving Licence is desirable.
* Ability to work Full Time Hours.
* Willing to undergo Garda Vetting process
* Have some personal or professional experience in care
Hibernia Academy for Care
Putting highly-trained carers in our community. The Hibernia Academy for Care addresses the need for quality, safe and reliable home care training. It provides a clear pathway to employment for those who want to care for people but need support to attain the required skills. The training programme consists of QQI Level 5 Modules and additional skills training, with on-site mentorship and support to meet mandatory requirements for working in the sector.
The Training Programme
The training programme consists of two QQI Level 5 Modules:
* Care of the Older Person
* Care Skills
It also comprises training in practical care skills, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Persons, and Infection Control. Participants receive 1-to-1 on-site support and mentorship from the Hibernia Senior Management Team, with assistance to complete assignments to meet mandatory sector requirements. Those who complete this training will be supported to complete the remaining six modules needed to achieve QQI Level 5 Major Award – Healthcare Support and to develop a Personal Development Plan. Details
* Paid training opportunity followed by full-time work per week in one of our service areas across South Dublin as a trained carer for Hibernia Home Care
* 2 weeks of classroom-based learning (Monday-Friday, Dublin location) followed by a week of support to complete QQI Care Skills and Care of the Older Person assignments
* Complete induction and orientation with a qualified carer
* Home care training graduation
