Emergency Medicine Specialist Role
The Emergency Medicine Department at this hospital is a major urban academic unit, receiving approximately 60,000 new patients annually. The clinical ethos aligns with the Emergency Medicine Programme and National Clinical Programmes, striving to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
This is a multi-consultant department with strong academic links and a major unit for undergraduate and postgraduate training, teaching, research, and audit. The hospital partners with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Dublin City University to facilitate various training programmes, including:
* Specialty Training in Emergency Medicine (CTEM)
* Advanced Specialty Training in Emergency Medicine (ASTEM)
* General Practice and Internal Medicine training schemes
* Advanced Paramedic training programme
* BSc Nursing studies
* Postgraduate diploma in Emergency Nursing
Biweekly Consultant high-quality Simulation and POCUS training are also provided. Planning and design for a state-of-the-art Emergency Department facility are underway to address future needs.
This role requires commitment to either full-time (37 hours/week) or part-time (18.5 hours/week) work at the hospital. Flexible working arrangements can be accommodated to meet individual needs.
Applicants must be registered on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners, or entitled to so be within 6 months, as maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
