Gaia Talent is partnering with a well-established Cork-based consultancy to find an experienced Biodiversity Lead. This is a rare opportunity for a senior ecologist to take the next step in their career and lead biodiversity strategy and delivery across a wide range of impactful projects.
Location: Cork (with hybrid and flexible working options available)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead biodiversity and ecology input on diverse planning and development projects across Ireland.
* Ensure full compliance with local Irish legislation and planning frameworks.
* Oversee ecological surveys, impact assessments (EIAs, NIS, AA), and biodiversity strategies.
* Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to team development.
* Liaise with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results.
* Drive innovation and best practice in ecological consultancy.
About You:
* 10+ years of professional experience in ecology or biodiversity-related consultancy.
* Strong knowledge of Irish environmental legislation and planning policy.
* Proven track record of delivering biodiversity-focused projects.
* Confident communicator with experience engaging clients and stakeholders.
* Ambitious, organised, and ready to take on a leadership role.
