Electrical Quantity Surveyors are key professionals in managing and overseeing cost management, procurement, valuations, and contractual compliance.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will play a leading role in the management of Electrical term service contracts, ensuring that works are delivered within budget and in line with contractual and technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Cost Management:
* Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and budgets for Electrical projects.
* Take ownership of cost control and value engineering throughout project lifecycles.
* Produce detailed pricing schedules using PSA and other MTC frameworks.
* Procurement and Subcontractor Management:
* Lead the procurement of materials, subcontractors, and specialist services, ensuring best value and compliance with specification.
* Review, negotiate, and manage subcontractor agreements and packages.
* Ensure all procurement is aligned with MTC contractual obligations.
* Valuations, Variations, and Financial Reporting:
* Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations, final accounts, and variation claims.
* Identify, price, and negotiate variations in accordance with the relevant contract.
* Deliver monthly cost/value reconciliations and financial progress reports.
* Contractual and Project Delivery Support:
* Ensure commercial and contractual compliance across all contracts.
* Attend project meetings, site inspections, and liaise closely with delivery teams.
* Provide cost advice and support to project and operational teams at all stages.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing Measured Term Contracts (MTC), particularly within facilities management, maintenance, or minor works frameworks. They will possess in-depth knowledge of Electrical systems and terminology, as well as strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites and client premises are required.
