Overview
We are partnering with a fast-growing private business in the construction sector to recruit a
Head of Sales
. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, leading sales teams, expanding into new markets, and shaping long-term commercial strategy.
This is a highly hands-on position suited to a commercially astute leader with deep sector knowledge and a track record of delivering growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams
* Define and execute sales strategies, pricing models, and customer plans
* Drive revenue, margin, and profitability targets across the business
* Identify and develop new markets, both domestically and internationally
* Explore and introduce new products and services aligned to market demand
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners
* Oversee key account management and long-term customer retention
* Manage escalated customer issues and ensure timely resolution
* Deliver accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis
* Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance
* Present sales performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a senior commercial or sales leadership role within Building Products
* Strong exposure to Builders Merchants and construction supply channels
* Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
* Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
* High level of commercial awareness and market insight
* Proficient in Excel and Office 365; CRM experience (e.g. Salesforce) is advantageous
