Microfluidics is a growing field with numerous applications in life sciences and diagnostics. To stay ahead of the curve, our client is seeking an experienced Senior R&D Engineer to lead the development of innovative microfluidic products.
1. This includes designing and developing new generations of microfluidic products, such as flow cytometry products and microfluidic biochips.
2. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical components and be able to develop them for these products.
3. A key responsibility will be participating in research and development projects, creating project reports, documentation, and proposals for new projects.
4. The successful candidate will also support quality control and testing of existing microfluidic products and those under development.
5. Liaising with subcontractors to support manufacturing processes, including ordering components, preparing specifications, and post-production QC, is essential.
6. Additionally, assisting the engineering team in planning and executing verification procedures and protocols to identify product specifications will be crucial.
The ideal candidate should possess:
* A Master's degree in biomedical engineering or equivalent.
* 4+ years of experience in designing microfluidics instrumentation or biochip products.
* Knowledge of manufacturing technologies: injection moulding, vacuum casting, rapid prototyping, ultrasonic welding.
* A solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, and COMSOL.
* A track record of designing and developing products from models and drawings to prototypes and production.
* Knowledge of data analysis such as Python or Neural Networks.
