ADI’s Electronic Design Automation (EDA) group is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious, and versatile engineer for the role of Analog and Mixed Signal (AMS) CAD Engineer to work in ADI’s Engineering Enablement organization located at Limerick, Ireland. You will join a team of Electrical and/or Computer Science engineering experts specialized in different domains such as circuit simulation, circuit/layout automation, software development, reliability, algorithm development, device modeling and AMS behavioral modeling. As a group we are responsible for developing and supporting tools and technologies to create an industry-leading product development ecosystem for ADI’s design and verification community, providing competitive advantage, by assessing and introducing forward-looking and transformative technologies. As part of this role, you will be involved in developing and supporting AMS CAD tools, flows and methodologies related to Integrated Circuit (IC) simulation and the design and verification environment, improving their quality and documentation for higher productivity among engineers using them. In addition, the role will require close collaboration within the group and with different stakeholders across the ADI’s engineering community.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Develop tools and flows for efficient simulation environment migration between EDA ecosystems
* Ensure seamless integration of new methodologies, tools and flows with both internal/external CAD/EDA tools for ease of use
* Develop software and automated procedures for Complex SoC (System on Chip) Design and verification environment using Cadence SKILL, Python, C++, etc.
* Develop and apply EDA software engineering methods, theories and applied research techniques for investigation and solving technical problems arising from IC Design and Verification.
* Perform IC analysis and simulation of ADI’s vast portfolio of products such as Data Converters, Amplifiers, PLLs, RF transceivers, sensors, etc.
* Publish technical reports and documentation to be used by ADI circuit designers
Required qualifications
* Master’s degree with background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and/or Computer Science Engineering
* Good knowledge of Analog and Mixed-signal circuit design and functionality, VLSI process technologies and Semiconductor Devices and Modeling
* Strong programming or scripting abilities using Python, C++, Perl, etc. or any other programming language.
* Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to various CAD flows and technologies
* Exposure to CAD tools for IC simulation such as LTspice or Spectre, AMS Designer, Xcelium or HSPICE, PrimeSim or Eldo or Keysights ADS, etc. and exposure to parasitic extraction tools such as Quantus, Star-RC, xAct, etc.
* Familiarity with HDL/HVL such as Verilog-A, SystemVerilog, Verilog-AMS, etc. for behavioral modeling or verification of AMS blocks
* Good understanding of IC design environment (Virtuoso Library Manager, simrc, cdsinit, Schematic Editor, Layout Editor, etc)
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative
* Very good communication abilities
Preferred qualifications:
* Prior experience with supporting any AMS circuit simulation CAD tools and advanced design verification procedures such as PVT, Monte-Carlo, Trimming, etc.
* Prior experience in developing any automation tools/utilities, design flows or algorithms related to AMS circuit simulation, design or verification
