One of Ireland's leading Credit Unions, seeks an experienced and commercially aware CFO.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will play a key role in executing the CU's strategic plan and play a key role in the growth and development of the credit union.
The CFO will also deputise for the CEO in their absence.
They will be an integral part of the senior management team and leading a very capable financial function to meet the current and future needs of this progressive credit union.
This role is based in Dublin, but will offer hybrid working.
The role is a Pre-Approval Controlled Function under the Central Banks Fitness & Probity requirements.
You will ideally be working in a CFO or similar senior financial role in a Credit Union, and looking for a fresh challenge, or be coming from a retail banking or similar financial services / regulated sector, looking to joining a leading Credit Union.
The Role: Strategic Plans, Business Model Development and Risk Management Lead and deliver on the creation and implementation of strategic business plans, business model development and financial strategies for the credit union.
Contribute financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and business cases for new projects and products.
Develop & update financial projections, monitor budgets and action plans.
Support the Risk Officer, Internal Audit Function and Compliance Functions in relation to business risk.
Financial Information & Reporting Manage the reporting of financial information.
Developing forecasts, reporting results, analysing variances and developing improvements.
Overseeing payroll Co-ordinate & facilitate the statutory interim & annual audits with external auditors.
Accountable for the preparation of operational, regulatory and financial returns to third parties to include the Central Bank and Revenue.
Investments, liquidity & asset & liability management Manage liquidity to meet the credit unions daily & future requirements.
Oversight of Asset & Liability Management risk.
Support the CEO and Investment Committee on maximising the return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities.
Business Management / Team Development Mentoring and developing both finance and non-finance staff Input to business development and growth plans.
The Requirements Qualified accountant with at least 5 years post-qualification experience in a financial management role preferably in the credit union, retail banking or a similar Financial Services / Regulated sector.
Excellent skills and experience in financial planning and strategy, forecasting, reporting and presentation of financial information, budgeting etc.
Significant experience in partnering with a CEO and a senior management team.
You will possess a high level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking skills are essential for the role.
