Director Revenue Recognition

Join us as Director of Revenue Recognition and lead a successful team that ensures compliance with accounting standards and delivers valuable insights to our management team. You will provide guidance and oversight on revenue transactions and advance scalable revenue accounting processes & systems in a fast-growing technology company.
The Director of Revenue Recognition reports to the Vice President of Accounting and heads a high-performing team organized into three groups: technical accounting & deal review, revenue accounting & systems, and transformation.
* Lead an experienced team of managers and accounting experts overseeing the revenue recognition process in compliance with IFRS 15 / ASC 606.
* Partner with product and business teams on new offerings ensuring revenue recognition policies and processes align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
* Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for revenue and related metrics, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition in SAP ERP systems, account reconciliations, and reporting.
* Be responsible for financial reporting and disclosures related to revenue, working closely with external auditors to manage an efficient & effective audit process.
* Provide actionable insights to support key business initiatives by analyzing revenue trends and other financial metrics.
* Drive continuous process improvement and automation in a highly complex system & reporting landscape.
* Play a key role in designing and rolling out our new ERP system (SAP S/4Hana) and other finance and reporting tools.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 15 years of progressive work experience in a similar role, preferably in tech companies and public accounting.
* Thought leadership or extensive experience in software revenue recognition gained from an industry role or technical accounting advisory at a Big-4 public accounting firm.
* Experience in leading and developing high-performing global teams and managing complex cross-functional projects.
* Excellent interpersonal acumen and executive presence including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* Exceptional critical thinking skills with the capability to break down complex problems.
* Advanced experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP.
