Role: Global Operational Resilience Specialist
Office Location: North Dock One, 91/92 North Wall Quay, Dublin, D01 H7V7
This role is Hybrid – 3 days in the office per week
Interactive Brokers Ireland Limited (“IBIE”) seeks an experienced Global Operational Resilience Specialist to serve as the accountable lead for the firm’s Operational Resilience Program. This position reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer based in London, U.K.
The goal of the position is to maintain and further develop the Operational Resilience Framework to ensure compliance with global regulations, accurately document ICT resiliency capabilities (systems and data), provide structured responses to significant disruptions, and minimize outage risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance
* Maintain all governance documentation for the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management (BCM) programs.
* Ensure evidence of compliance with these programs.
* Collaborate with senior leaders to identify critical business activities and set risk tolerances, including Maximum Tolerable Downtime (currently 4 hours).
* Manage related data and records in Fusion and Confluence.
Operating Model and Business Activities
* Enhance documentation of the firm's operating model and activities.
* Present updates to senior leadership as needed.
* Represent IBKR in regulatory matters related to OpRes and BCM, both in writing and verbally.
* Coordinate OpRes and BCM training with the Learning & Development team annually.
Assessment
* Maintain accurate Business Impact Analyses for supporting groups.
* Work with IT, ERM, Data Governance, and HR to assess resource requirements for business activities.
Planning
* Ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) reflect current capabilities and risk appetite.
* Benchmark BCPs against regulatory standards and client expectations, identifying gaps.
* Develop response plans for failures of critical systems, data, or vendors.
* Maintain plans in Fusion and Confluence, considering offline solutions.
Testing
* Coordinate annual testing of BCPs and disaster recovery (DR) plans across locations.
* Review recovery times to ensure they meet RTOs and MTDs.
* Coordinate with Data Governance and Compliance on data recovery strategies.
Integration
* Embed OpRes into incident management, InfoSec, disaster recovery, TPSP management, and infrastructure programs.
* Ensure alignment of recovery plans and testing with business activity priorities.
Skills & Experience:
* 10+ years in business continuity or disaster recovery, preferably in finance, fintech, or IT.
* Deep knowledge of US and global BCM, DR, Vendor Risk Management regulations, EU DORA, and practical experience.
* Strong IT knowledge and credibility with IT management, including cyber risks.
* Proven ability to conduct impact analyses, develop response/recovery plans, and execute tests.
* Ability to translate regulations into practical implementation options.
* Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
* Excellent collaboration and relationship management skills.
