Our client, a respected business organisation, is seeking an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Executive to join their team, reporting to the Public Affairs Manager. This role supports the delivery of the organisation's public affairs and thought-leadership strategy, overseeing a variety of high-impact policy projects from development through to implementation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in horizon scanning to anticipate future developments in enterprise and workforce policy, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of emerging thinking. They will also cultivate strong relationships with external stakeholders and advocate effectively on behalf of the organisation to government, industry, and wider audiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation's public affairs and policy strategy.
* Undertake policy research and analysis, producing clear, accessible reports and high-quality briefing materials.
* Engage with policymakers, business leaders, and stakeholders to shape and influence public policy.
* Support the delivery of research and insight projects in collaboration with business networks.
* Represent the organisation at working groups, consultations, and external forums.
* Monitor political, economic, and social developments, providing timely intelligence and recommendations to senior management.
* Support the preparation of submissions, consultation responses, and public affairs campaigns.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
* At least five years' experience in a policy, research, or public affairs role, ideally within a business or membership organisation.
* Strong track record in policy development, stakeholder engagement, and research project management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex policy issues for diverse audiences.
* Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with the confidence to represent the organisation externally.
* Independent, proactive, and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Understanding of the Irish political and policy landscape.
* Postgraduate qualification in political science, public policy, economics, or a related discipline (desirable).
