Position: On Site Operations Manager

KeyGreen is expanding, and we're looking for a dynamic, hands-on Waste Facility/Depot Manager to lead operations at our waste processing site.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of materials through the facility while supporting the company's ambitious growth plans.
As we invest in new infrastructure and scale operations across multiple sites, this position will play a central part in shaping the performance and long-term success of our waste facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Staff & Team Management
* Lead and manage picking line operatives, machine drivers, and weighbridge staff
* Create staff rosters, mentor team members, and drive throughput performance
* Oversee weighbridge operations, including night shifts
Plant & Facility Efficiency
* Collaborate with maintenance to optimise plant performance
* Liaise with plant suppliers on SLAs, maintenance, and upgrades
* Improve material throughput and reduce costs, including energy efficiency
Site Licensing & Compliance
* Ensure timely movement of materials to and from outlets
* Manage compliance with EPA licence and waste storage regulations
* Maintain accurate records on skip classification, odour/dust control, and material quality
* Coordinate with EHS on inspections and communications with neighbours
General Yard Operations
* Ensure staff facilities are well-maintained and the site meets high standards
* Manage stock levels for bins, skips, and Rollons
* Develop and implement traffic management plans in coordination with transport and EHS teams
What You'll Bring
* Experience in waste management, depot operations, or similar industrial environments
* Proven leadership ability and team management skills
* Operational knowledge of plant and material handling processes
* Understanding of regulatory compliance (EPA, health & safety, etc.)
* Heavy machinery experience is desirable but not essential
* Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Working Hours
* 40-45 hours per week, based on business requirements (some flexibility may be required)
