Description
We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to support our team’s strategy, growth, and innovation. Based in Dublin, this role will be instrumental in managing our newly created Captive Insurance process within the Controllership team. The role involves designing and implementing the accounting process for our Captive Insurance, driving enterprise-wide value and alignment through our GPO model, and ensuring compliance and technology integration.
What You Will Do
* Design a process to monitor and control the captive operations, including the Quarterly Bordereau process, and develop accounting processes and policies in collaboration with the SOX team.
* Work with the Benefits team to set the captive insurance policies, including pricing.
* Collaborate with the Actuarial team to value the estimated expense for the policies covered by the captives.
* Manage the audit of the Captive as well as the periodic and annual filings.
* Monitor the entity for solvency, minimum capital requirements, and compliance with industry norms.
* Support Board of Directors reporting requirements.
* Work with a Captive Insurance process and Insurance Specific accounting including loss reserves, actuarial valuation, and reinsurance.
* Work closely with our shared service centre to assist with reconciliations, controls, etc.
* Provide technical accounting advisory to support US GAAP and local GAAP compliance.
* Ensure SOX compliance; enforce and recommend improvements to company policies, internal controls, systems, and processes; assist in documentation, testing, and monitoring of internal controls.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to enable business operations; understand business fundamentals and assess the impact of business proposals on financial controls, processes, and reporting.
* Participate in various organization/department-wide initiatives that promote team culture.
Who You Are
* Minimum of 10 years of related accounting operations and Internal/External Audit experience with a global company (preferably technology or insurance related industry). Big 4 experience is a plus.
* Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Accounting or Finance or a related finance field degree.
* Exposure to preparing accounts under ASC 944 – Financial Services Assurance.
* Exposure to Benefit accounting.
* Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Netsuite, Workday) preferred.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills across all levels.
* Proven critical thinking capability.
* Process re-engineering involvement and/or process efficiency focus.
* Strong analytical skills and experience using data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau).
* Ability to identify and drive business accounting process improvement.
