Job Title - General OperativeSummary of PositionThe General Operative will join our Traffic Management and Warehouse team based at Rosslare Port. The role involves assisting with the receiving and checking of vehicles, including directing motorists to designated parking areas or spaces using hand signals or flashlights as required.Within the Warehouse division, the General Operative will be responsible for the movement of goods, products, and materials within the warehouse and onto transport vehicles, operating warehouse machinery and equipment safely, and maintaining general housekeeping standards throughout the facility.Responsibilities / Principal DutiesTo deliver the highest standard of service to all customersThe ability to receive and check off trucks, highlighting any anomalies and ensuring secure, correct and timely processes in line with health and safety guidelines.Responsible for the safety of road users and pedestrians while on the compound and they must be able to demonstrate an ability to deal with the public in a friendly and effective manner.To assist with the safe loading, handling and unloading of cargo/materialsTo assist with the hand-balling of cargo/materialsTo ensure that incoming cargo/materials are stored, stacked and distributed according to company procedures and instructions from your managerTo ensure the warehouse is kept tidy, clean and secureTo process and organise the delivery and/or collection of all materials to and from the warehouse according to company procedures and as requested by Company's customersTo process all necessary documentation within the warehouse and complete all relevant system transactionsTo operate the Company's equipment, plant and machinery, which may include forklifts and clamps, in a proper, safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Company's procedures and policiesAny other duties the management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require.Who We're Looking ForThe successful candidate will possess the following:Full, clean Category B driving licence or an equivalent driving license from another country which is valid in IrelandFluency in English, both spoken and writtenGood literacy and numerical skillsAbility to work under pressure and to deadlinesProven ability to work within a teamIdeally, the successful candidate will have previous warehousing or cargo handling experience, but this is not a requirement.Hours of work– Shift rota 3 days on, 3 days off 05:00hrs - 17:00hrs & 17:00hrs – 05:00hrs.
