Clinical Nurse Specialist
This is a senior nursing role requiring an advanced level of clinical expertise in oncology. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering high-quality patient care and demonstrating exceptional leadership skills.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Oncology will be responsible for coordinating the treatment of patients with cancer, providing specialist nursing care, advice, information, and support. They will work closely with the medical oncology team, pharmacy, dietitians, social work department, and psych-oncology to ensure that patients receive timely and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing specialist oncology nursing care to patients with a cancer diagnosis
* Coordinating the treatment of patients with cancer, including systemic anti-cancer treatment
* Working closely with the medical oncology team to develop treatment plans and ensure continuity of care
* Providing education and support to patients and their families
* Liaising with external hospitals regarding concurrent treatment modalities such as radiotherapy
Eligibility Criteria:
* Registration in the relevant division of the Register of nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI/Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann)
* Successful completion of an oncology/cancer nursing post-registration programme of study, certified by the education provider
* A minimum of 5 years post-registration full-time experience or an aggregate of 5 years full-time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made
* A minimum of 2 years experience or an aggregate of 2 years full-time experience in specialist area of acute oncology
