Senior Procurement Specialist – IT Category

We're partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Senior Procurement Specialist to manage and optimise indirect spend across IT categories. This is a high-impact role focused on cost reduction, supplier negotiation, and process improvement within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Spend Analysis
* Lead IT category strategy development, becoming a subject matter expert in market trends and supplier landscapes.
* Analyse spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive sourcing initiatives.
* Support annual budgeting through procurement insights and analytics.
Negotiation & Contracting
* Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and lead end-to-end sourcing processes.
* Conduct supplier negotiations, leveraging external market intelligence where needed (e.g., IT consultants).
* Oversee contracting activities in collaboration with Legal, Data Protection, and Security teams to ensure robust, compliant agreements.
Supplier & Process Management
* Act as a central point for IT-related procurement, ensuring compliance with procurement policy and minimising off-contract spend.
* Build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Drive use of procurement systems and catalogues, consolidating spend with preferred vendors.
* Monitor pricing adherence, track savings, and improve supplier performance frameworks.
Key Requirements
Essential:
* 5+ years’ experience managing and negotiating high-value procurement contracts, ideally within IT categories.
* Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
* Proven ability to lead tendering processes and influence cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
* Procurement or finance-related qualifications (e.g., CIPS, accounting certification).
* Familiarity with legal/GDPR contracting and vendor compliance.
* Experience in retail, wholesale, or similar complex business environments.
