Job Description
Rural Revive Full‑Time Employment Support Officer (ESO) X 2 Fixed term contract for 2.5 years with 1 ESO based in Monaghan and 1 in Cavan. Rural Revive is a new initiative funded under the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) programme, addressing long‑term unemployment in rural areas by creating guaranteed job placements, supporting inclusive employer practices and providing tailored support to jobseekers aged 45+.
The Employment Support Officer (ESO) will support long‑term unemployed individuals aged 45+ to enter the workforce through the Guaranteed Job Placement Scheme GJPS. The ESO will work closely with jobseekers, employers and local stakeholders to deliver career support, facilitate, monitor and evaluate a one‑year job placement.
* Liaise with local employment services, community groups, training providers to promote Rural Revive.
* Recruit and support LTU individuals aged 45+ in Monaghan and Cavan.
* Deliver personalised career pathway sessions.
* Organise and monitor activities in response to assessed needs of the client so that each client becomes 'job‑ready' as effectively as possible and are subsequently placed in employment.
* Match jobseekers with suitable employers participating in the GJPS.
* Assist with onboarding, training and contract management.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular meetings and reporting.
* Organise employer information sessions and deliver workshops on inclusive hiring practices.
* Organise jobseeker recruitment and information fairs.
* Effectively maintain records, confidentiality and data protection guidelines.
* Provide ongoing support to both jobseekers and employers during the placement.
* Participate in marketing, advertising and networking events.
The successful person should:
* Hold a Level 7 qualification or experience working with long‑term unemployed adults or recruitment.
* A high level of awareness, understanding / experience of the issues that concern unemployed people.
* Good understanding and knowledge of the local jobs market.
* Own their own car and have a clean driving licence (travel set at the European Commission travel rates).
