Mechanical Design Engineer Water Division Location: Kilkenny Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: €*****k DOE + additional benefits Hours: 40 hours per week (MonFri, 8:30 am 5:30 pm) / Hybrid Due to continued success and growth within the Water division, our client is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic Design Team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of Water and Wastewater Treatment projects across Ireland.
Required Skills & Qualifications Degree Level 7/8/9 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in the Water Industry (desirable).
Previous experience in sectors such as Water, Pumping/Piping, Fluid Handling Systems, Oil/Gas (desirable).
Ability to work independently and manage/co-ordinate design effectively.
Practical site experience (desirable).
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Senior Design Engineer to support end-to-end design projects alongside the wider Design team.
Liaise with clients from initial concept through feasibility, detailed design, implementation, and final delivery.
Maintain high standards of work, ensuring compliance with specifications and engineering practices.
Act as a technical point of contact throughout project stages.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Design Leads, and Sub Consultants.
Conduct detailed design calculations and equipment selections.
Work with the drawing team to develop P&IDs and design drawings.
Provide guidance on equipment selection and assist with procurement activities.
Ensure all project documentation aligns with the Project Quality Plan and specific requirements.
