Job Description:
The EH&S Manager will be responsible for ensuring that ABEC's operations comply with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations worldwide. The role involves maintaining awareness of current regulations, implementing SOPs and Work Instructions, training employees, and conducting audits and inspections. The EH&S Manager will collaborate with manufacturing, quality control, and HR to ensure operational safety and compliance across all facilities. Leadership in developing policies, procedures, and training programs to promote safety and regulatory adherence is essential. The position also includes reporting EH&S data to relevant agencies outside the USA.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide safety support and information to employees.
2. Identify safety training needs and coordinate programs.
3. Assist in hazard identification and risk assessments.
4. Develop or update Job Safety Analyses/Risk Assessments.
5. Perform internal safety audits.
6. Support emergency preparedness procedures.
7. Assist in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment.
8. Promote safety awareness through communication and training.
9. Chair Safety Committee meetings and share best practices.
10. Schedule and evaluate emergency response drills.
11. Manage EH&S work assignments and duties timely.
12. Conduct EH&S training for employees, contractors, visitors.
13. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs for compliance.
14. Review incident reports and follow-up for corrective actions.
15. Participate in workplace inspections and incident investigations.
16. Coordinate with HR on workers' compensation and return-to-work issues.
17. Respond to daily EH&S issues promptly.
18. Maintain detailed records and report data to the corporate office.
19. Monitor safety goals and objectives.
20. Ensure understanding of all EH&S and regulatory requirements.
21. Perform other assigned tasks, including quarterly waste-water reports and chemical audits.
22. Travel as required.
23. Enforce a positive safety culture and accountability.
24. Enter safety data and observations.
25. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
* 5-10 years' management experience in EH&S, preferably with multi-site responsibility, including international sites.
* Level 7 degree in workplace safety, industrial engineering, or related field.
* Practical knowledge of HSA (Ireland) & OSHA (USA) regulations.
* Experience with HSA compliance.
* Apply engineering controls, administrative procedures, and work practices to mitigate EHS risks.
* Manage data collection, updates, and analysis for compliance.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
* Flexible, innovative, and capable of setting priorities.
* Strong presentation, business, facilitation, and communication skills.
* Ability to obtain CIF safety supervisor certification.
* Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
