The Role:
Financial Accounting Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accounting services in line with business expectations.
* Provide support and maintain integrity on all ledgers, specifically the General Ledger across the UK&I Division.
* Partner with staff to build capability.
Main Responsibilities:
Key Activities
* Reconciliation of control accounts, journals, and tasks aligned to the integrity of month-end close.
* Oversee processes for the timely submission of direct tax submissions (VAT, RCT, PAYE) and Lease accounting administration.
* GL balance sheet reconciliations preparation, overview, and communication to the business.
* Journal processing ensuring requests have appropriate approval and suitable backup.
* Lease administration and accounting.
* Management of the intercompany process.
* VAT return preparation and overall coordination.
* Project and contract administration.
* Audit queries.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience within the construction industry is desirable.
* Good working knowledge of ERP systems, DRC, RCT, and VAT.
* Intermediate level Excel skills.
* Part-qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
* Ability to pay attention to detail for accurate data entry and checking of all ledger entries.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
* Target-driven with a proactive approach to problems, spotting potential errors and resolving.
