Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Management of significant engineering projects through project management office (PMO) tools and methodologies.
* Ensuring quality of process and product as defined in appropriate operating system (OS) and material specifications.
* Owning the first-pass yield (FPY) and material review board (MRB) processes.
* Continuously improving the performance of the process through lean manufacturing techniques.
* Optimizing current floor space for efficient production.
* Providing support to process development/advanced operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process.
* Engaging in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing.
* Supporting process development and cost reduction activities within business units.
* Communicating and participating in system and process troubleshooting.
Requirements
* Level 8 Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects.
* Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
* Capable of providing technical leadership and influencing and providing technical direction to engineers, coop students, technicians, and operators as required.
* Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic, and results-motivated environment.
* Demonstrable strong analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Technological expert, willing to source, investigate, and implement technological and automation advances.
* Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
