It is suited to someone who is looking to take control of their career and broaden their experience in cross-border tax issues. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are now seeking to recruit a tax manager or an assistant tax manager (depending on experience) to join a busy, dynamic tax department.The firm currently has 19 partners and over 200 staff.This role works with the International Tax Partner and wider management team on the delivery of high-quality consultancy and compliance assignments. The role is primarily focused on corporate tax and VAT for international clients, but prior experience in both areas is not essential.KEY RESULT AREASCo-ordinate and schedule a large portfolio of tax assignments, covering both consulting and compliance.Enhance and oversee control systems to ensure that all deadlines are met.Quality review of tax returns, preparation of more complex tax calculations and assistance in tax provisioning, tax accounting and reporting work.Assistance with identifying, planning, development and facilitating of ongoing tax training programs for junior staff members.Management and oversight of working capital management objectives to include regular review of WIP and timely raising of fees.Contributing to how we evolve through use of technology and alternative delivery models/structures.Proactively liaise and build effective working relationships with firm staff in all disciplines (Audit, Company Secretarial etc.) to facilitate and support the Tax Department.Manage client relationships. Contact, liaise and foster business relationship that develops the client portfolio further.Manage the day-to-day supervision of junior staff, ensure the training needs and on-the-job training are met. Mentor junior staff allocated to assignments and fully participate in all Performance Management initiatives as required.Be fully conversant and understand the authority levels of this role and those of all relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the Firm's policies, procedures and regulations.PERSON SPECIFICATIONEssential Knowledge & Skills: -A qualification as a Tax Consultant (AITI CTC) and/or Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).3 plus years PQEDemonstrable understanding of multiple tax heads and awareness of topical issuesStrong technical competenceProven ability to work on a diverse range of clients across multiple sectorsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWell-developed Project Management skills plus the proven ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at any one time.Essential competencies: -People Leadership: Proven ability to listen, build rapport, influence and build relationships & keen to develop career into a more senior management role.
