About the Role
Medforce Recruitment is delighted to partner with the HSE to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist for a Primary Care Adult Service in Galway. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about community healthcare and supporting adults to maintain independence and function in their daily lives.
You will provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to adult clients with a wide range of needs, working in collaboration with families, carers, and a dynamic multidisciplinary team. The role is community-based and offers the chance to work holistically across various physical, cognitive, and social challenges affecting clients' everyday functioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver individualised assessments and goal-driven interventions in a community setting
* Support clients with physical, neurological, or age-related difficulties
* Complete home visits, environmental assessments, and equipment recommendations
* Collaborate with GPs, public health nurses, physiotherapists, and other primary care professionals
* Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff and students
* Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
* CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential)
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, preferably in adult primary care or community settings
* Strong knowledge of functional assessments, adaptive equipment, and client-centred practice
* Excellent communication, documentation, and teamworking skills
* Full drivers licence and access to own transport (community travel is required)
