Senior Network & Security Engineer Location: Dublin 18, Sandyford (Hybrid) – 1 to 2 days per week onsite, remainder remote.

Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer (Level 3) to support project delivery, advanced technical escalation, and presales consultancy within a fast-paced IT services and cybersecurity environment.
This is a hands-on contract role suited to a highly skilled engineer with strong enterprise networking and security experience, particularly across next-generation firewalls and SASE platforms.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery Design, configure, and implement secure network and security solutions across enterprise environments.
Lead end-to-end deployment of next-generation firewalls, VPN solutions, SD-WAN, and SASE platforms.
Ensure solutions are delivered in line with best practice security frameworks, scalability standards, and compliance requirements.
Produce high-quality technical documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and implementation plans.
Advanced Support & Escalation Act as Level 3 escalation point for complex networking and security incidents.
Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting across firewall, routing, switching, and cloud-integrated environments.
Perform root cause analysis and provide detailed post-incident reporting.
Optimise and fine-tune security infrastructure for performance, resilience, and security posture.
Presales & Technical Consultancy Provide technical input during solution design and scoping phases.
Support proposal development, including architecture validation and effort estimation.
Participate in customer workshops and technical discussions.
Advise on emerging trends within networking, SASE, and cybersecurity.
Skills & Experience Essential5+ years' experience in network and security engineering within enterprise or managed services environments.
Strong hands-on expertise with: Palo Alto Networks firewalls Fortinet (Forti Gate)Sonic Wall Experience working with SASE platforms including: Cato Networks Versa Networks Deep understanding of routing & switching, BGP, OSPF, VPN technologies (IPSec/SSL), SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-level network/security projects end-to-end.
Desirable Experience supporting enterprise or MSP client environments.
Exposure to SIEM, SOC operations, and endpoint security solutions.
Public cloud networking/security experience in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, NSE4/NSE7, CCNP Security, or vendor-specific SASE accreditations.
Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
Industry certifications highly desirable.
