Working directly for our client the Infrastructure Delivery Partner to their client, who is at the heart of Ireland’s Energy Transition - Connecting, Operating and Transforming the Electricity Grid to support a Low Carbon, Renewable Future.

The team, the Chief Infrastructure Office comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in Engineering and Business/Commerce.
They responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Power System and Interconnection Investment Programmes, in collaboration with Partners, Customers & Communities.
The Connection Projects (Southern Region) team is responsible for the delivery of Electricity Generation, Demand and Interconnection Customer Connections to the Transmission System.
This includes the delivery of transmission works for Power Generation and Demand Customer Connections at Distribution Voltage levels.
The Opportunity
The Senior Lead Scheduler is a key leadership role within the Connection Projects Southern Region and will report to the Connection Projects Southern Region Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will lead the Scheduling and Planning discipline across the region, driving a more consistent, integrated and proactive approach to Project Controls that supports the effective delivery of a growing portfolio of Complex Customer Connection projects.
This role requires an experienced Planning and Project Controls professional with a strong track record in Large Capital Delivery environments.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and continuously improve SCHEDULING STANDARDS, lead the development of Integrated Schedules across internal and external interfaces, and embed the use of schedules as an active management tool for decision‑making, Forecasting and Delivery Performance.
A third level qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or a related discipline is expected, together with strong analytical and digital capability, particularly in Primavera P6, MS Project Online, Excel, MS Office and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Scheduling and Planning function across the Southern Region, providing direction, oversight and support to Schedulers, Project Controllers and Project Managers to ensure effective Project Controls across the portfolio.
Develop, implement and continuously improve Scheduling Standards, Procedures and Controls for the Southern Region to drive Consistency, Quality and robust Schedule Governance across all projects.
Establish and Lead Schedule Governance, Assurance and Review Processes, including Schedule Quality Checks, Compliance Reviews and the implementation of corrective actions where required.
Lead the Development, Integration and maintenance of Project and Programme Schedules in Primavera P6 and MS Project Online, ensuring alignment to agreed work breakdown Structures, Scope, Milestones and Delivery Strategies.
Define and embed scheduling input requirements for Developers/ Customers, Contractors, Consultants and Internal Stakeholders to support the development of fully integrated and realistic Schedules.
Drive the timely receipt and effective challenge of Schedule inputs from internal and external parties, addressing gaps, weak submissions and interface risks where third‑party schedules are incomplete, misaligned or absent.
Establish, maintain and Control Schedule baselines, including the management of work breakdown structures, basis of Schedule Documents, assumptions Logs, Change Control and Schedule Variance Reporting.
Facilitate and Lead Schedule Development and progress review workshops with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, Package Leads, Consultants and Subject Matter Experts to ensure schedules remain current, coordinated and deliverable.
Promote the use of Schedules as an active Project Delivery tool to support Forecasting, Progress Measurement, Interface Management, Trend Analysis, What-If Scenario Planning, Recovery Planning and Risk Identification.
Provide High-Quality Project and Programme Reporting, including Monthly Progress Updates, Lookahead Reporting, Executive-Level Programme Reports, Critical Path Analysis and Clear Schedule Status reporting for Stakeholders at all levels.
Review, assess and challenge the deliverability of contractor and third-party Schedules, ensuring assumptions, dependencies, interfaces and key milestones are appropriately reflected and actively managed.
