Academic Department Manager Position
The Academic Department Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the academic department, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional learner experiences.
* Curriculum Development: Develop and implement existing curricula and syllabi for English language programmes, fostering growth and improvement.
* Assessment Framework: Oversee the development and implementation of assessment materials, guaranteeing alignment with programme curriculum and syllabus.
* Learner Management: Lead the induction of new English language teaching staff, addressing student complaints, and establishing routines for teacher observations and peer reviews.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, be well-versed in educational methodologies, and have experience in managing academic departments. They must also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support teaching staff.
Qualifications:
* Educated to Degree Level (QQI Level 7 or equivalent)
* DELTA, Trinity Diploma in TESOL, or MA in ELT/TESOL
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with teaching staff, students, and senior management.
* Ensure compliance with ISE policies, health and safety regulations, and data protection imperatives.
* Conduct regular appraisals, provide support to new/inexperienced teachers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
