Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, and ensuring timely submission and agreement of applications, cost plans, variation details, claims, and other documentation.
The Mechanical Estimator will work closely with clients and consultants from initial enquiries through to final accounts on the production and agreement of account details and securing final payment without undue penalty.
Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors and internal team members pricing variations is also an essential part of this role.
Cost Control/Management of Projects is crucial in this position, requiring the ability to monitor project costs against budgets, identify problems/opportunities, and recommend/implement change where necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 3+ years' industry-relevant experience
* Tendering on a variety of large-scale projects, including commercial, pharma, DC, healthcare
* Involved in full tender process from beginning to completion;
* Liaising with relevant parties on an ongoing basis
* A relevant third-level degree and/or a mechanical trade background
* Experience in a mechanical contracting environment essential
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under strict deadlines essential
* Excellent communication and time management skills essential
