This is a senior leadership role overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, and operational oversight across a diverse alternatives platform including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and private credit.The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, complex fund structures, and strategic business initiatives within a fast-paced international environment. An excellent relocation package is available for candidates moving to Luxembourg.The RoleThe Director of Fund Accounting will take ownership of accounting oversight, financial reporting delivery, service provider management, and control governance across multiple alternative investment structures. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalable processes across the platform.Key ResponsibilitiesLead fund accounting oversight across a range of alternative investment vehicles and structures.Manage the review and delivery of quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS, Lux GAAP, US GAAP, and other relevant frameworks.Oversee NAV production, accounting controls, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy across complex fund structures.Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, depositaries, and other external service providers, ensuring strong service delivery and accountability.Partner closely with investment teams, treasury, legal, tax, and operations functions on fund launches, restructurings, and strategic initiatives.Drive process optimisation, automation, and operational improvements across accounting and reporting workflows.Lead audit coordination and regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring timely resolution of issues and remediation actions.Develop and maintain robust policies, procedures, and governance controls across the accounting function.Mentor and lead international teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.Required Experience10+ years of experience within fund accounting, financial reporting, or fund operations, with strong exposure to alternative investments.Extensive experience working with Luxembourg fund structures including RAIFs, SICARs, SIFs, and AIF structures.Strong understanding of accounting treatment across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and/or private credit funds.Proven experience managing external administrators and auditors within complex multi-jurisdictional environments.Previous leadership experience managing teams across multiple locations and time zones.Experience working within regulated environments and interacting with senior governance stakeholders.Technical Skills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of IFRS, Lux GAAP, and alternative investment accounting principles.Understanding of Luxembourg regulatory requirements impacting alternative funds, including AIFMD and CSSF expectations.Highly experienced in managing the NAV processStrong controls mindset with experience managing audits, governance reviews, and operational risk.Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.Personal ProfileStrong leadership presence with excellent stakeholder management skills.Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.High attention to detail and commitment to quality and governance standards.Fluent English communication skills; additional European languages would be advantageous.This is an outstanding opportunity to join a high-performing global platform in Luxembourg with genuine long-term career progression, international exposure, and a highly competitive relocation and compensation package.
