The role of the Technical Services Engineer – Powerplant is to deliver operational excellence by ensuring the ASL Airlines fleets are safe, compliant, reliable, on-time and defect-free, managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve this in a cost-effective way for the airframe systems.Key AccountabilitiesThe Technical Services Powerplant section is responsible for Engineering activities related to the airworthiness, safety, reliability, operational disruption, and commercial cost effectiveness of all Engine types operated by ASL Airlines and its customer airlines.Ensuring applicable FAA/EASA/CAA Airworthiness Directives are reviewed and managed with compliant technical and/or procedural actions.Identifying, reviewing, producing and follow up of technical documentation related to Non-mandatory Modifications (SB, SL, STC, or Service docs).Monitoring of operational reliability with identification and introduction of effective delay mitigation actions to ensure target levels for operational reliability are achieved.Using Reliability Centred Maintenance Philosophy, assisting in producing and managing initial issue and revision to AMP, supporting AMP optimization projects, reviewing findings to ensure the AMP remains compliant and effective considering the operating experience for engine related tasks.Contributing to issuing Reliability Reports and supporting the company Reliability Control Board process for Engine related matters.Providing assistance to phase in /phase out projects of aircraft as required, including records review of AD/SB, HTC, LLPs, OCCM, modification status, to support, in the Powerplant domain, the Continuous Airworthiness Manager in order to produce Aircraft Introduction Files and Aircraft Redelivery in accordance with EASA/FAA/CAA requirements.Manage technical investigations and implement corrective actions.Investigating Occurrence reports performing appropriate technical and/or procedural actions to minimize possibility of recurrence for the fleet.Supporting Line Maintenance and Flight Operations with specialist technical support.Manage the Engine Condition Trend Monitoring process.Manage the airline Engine Removal plan.Driving continuous improvement, processes, and procedures.Managing the technical relationship with Engine manufacturers to ensure they effectively support ASL Airlines Engineering.Keeping abreast of industry best practice ideas and developments - adopting these where appropriate.Maintain competence on the basis of continued education and training in their area of responsibility. The company will facilitate this process.RequirementsQualificationsMust have completed a recognised apprenticeship in aircraft engineering with two years’ post-apprenticeship aircraft engineering experience, orMust hold a recognised aircraft engineering qualification (Degree in Engineering or aerospace discipline or an equivalent professional qualification) with minimum 3 years' experience in Engineering role, orMust hold a Part 66 licence issued by the IAA or equivalent authority.ExperienceStrong aviation engineering knowledge and experience in a CAMO organization preferably in Powerplant engineering role.Strong supplier management experience.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact and influence across Engineering sections, OEMs, other operators, industry experts and regulators.Sound knowledge of maintenance planning.Sound knowledge of airworthiness regulations.Sound knowledge of aircraft maintenance programmes and development.Sound knowledge of computerised Maintenance Information Systems and record keeping systems.
