The role
Swim Teacher
In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities, ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals. You will also have the opportunity to lifeguard during pool sessions between lessons and assist with administrative tasks.
Hours: Up to 34 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (rota basis).
Responsibilities
Teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience.
Communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme.
Assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline.
Assist with administration tasks in the office.
Qualifications
NPLQ qualification or equivalent (training can be provided).
Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
An ability to deal with children and their parents.
Level 2 swimming teaching qualification (training can be provided).
DBS check.
Well developed interpersonal skills.
Team oriented approach, able to work across organisation boundaries and support colleagues.
Ability to work flexibly and understand instructions from managers.
Demonstrated passion and energy for the leisure industry.

Salary: Swim Teacher up to £15.28 per hour. Lifeguard/Admin up to £12.71 per hour.
