Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Culture Engagement Specialist within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.

As part of a new programme of work supported by an Institutional Research Culture award from Wellcome - Research Culture Networking, Empowerment, Engagement, and Wellbeing (RENEEW) - the Research Culture Initiative is recruiting a Research Culture Engagement Specialist. The post holder will be required to work with a broad range of stakeholders across UCD including UCD Research Managers and Administrators Network (URMAN), Technical Officers, College and School Offices, Research Staff Association & Careers Office, Graduate Studies, and other internal and external key stakeholders, including the Research Culture team in Queen's University Belfast (QUB). Embedded in UCD HR Culture and Engagement, this role will report to the RENEEW project team and work closely with the Research Culture & Engagement Manager.

The post-holder will focus on stakeholder engagement to develop opportunities and adopt mechanisms that will increase visibility and recognition of all those who contribute to research. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-going facilitation of an interdisciplinary research seminar series, aimed at early career researchers (ECRs) to foster development of truly interdisciplinary research ideas. The post-holder will support the rollout and reporting of findings for the UCD Research Culture Survey. The role will coordinate internal and external communications about all project activities.

Eligibility criteria

Mandatory:

*A relevant third level qualification (level 8 or above).
*At least 1 years' experience in a third level institution or large organisation.
*Excellent project management skills, including the ability to organise, plan and manage multiple work strands and projects.
*Experience of relationship and stakeholder management for diverse audiences.
*Ability to build relationships.
*Excellent oral communication skills and ability to convey and share information and ideas with others.
*Experience in organising and managing workshops and other events.
*Demonstrate ability to provide clear written communication with proven ability to compile well-structured reports, documents and presentations.
*Demonstrate outstanding planning and organisation skills including organising own workload effectively. Sets clear priorities and ensures deadlines are met.
*Proven ability to take initiative through acting early to address and resolve problems and find solutions.
*Excellent IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) and knowledge of Google platforms (Gmail, Google Calendars, Google Drive).
*Candidates must demonstrate an awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.

*Excellent project management skills, including the ability to organise, plan and manage multiple work strands and projects.
*Previous experience of working in a research or research administration environment.
*Relevant post-graduate qualification.
*Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high levels of professionalism when working under pressure.
