Toolmaker
Our client, based in Longford is a global leader and manufacturer of injection-moulded products for the medical device markets. They are currently expanding again after recently doubling their plant site.
You will work with a great team and the company has a huge collective bank of knowledge within the injection mould and medical device industry.
Requirements:
1. Toolmaking qualification plus time served with a toolmaker producing injection moulds.
2. Previous experience in an injection mould making / mould maintenance environment.
3. Knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, sparking and fitting.
4. Ability to weld.
5. Good knowledge in mould maintenance and experience of supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment.
6. Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of the following mould types would be a distinct advantage:
7. Multi cavity moulds
8. Hot Runner moulds
9. Valve gated moulds
10. Good understanding of the injection moulding process.
11. Previous experience working on technically challenging applications would be an advantage (ie) medical, tight tolerance work.
12. Ability to interact with suppliers, customers and external toolmakers.
13. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be an advantage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
14. Responsible for the maintenance of injection moulds in the company and compiling standard specifications /procedures for each mould and monitoring all existing moulds to standard specifications.
15. Responsible for, jigs & fixture manufacture, maintenance on the injection moulding and ancillary equipment in conjunction with the machine supplier.
16. Works with the Process Engineers in troubleshooting mould problems.
17. Attends, schedules and facilitates internal meetings to help establish priorities and assign tasks.
18. Solves, in conjunction with the Quality department, customer related problems/issues as needed
19. In conjunction with approved toolmakers, research new processes and/or systems for maintenance/manufacture of moulds and implement new processes and systems as developed under the direction of the Toolroom manager.
20. Instructs others, formally or informally, regarding manufacturing related skills or knowledge and assist in the training of employees on new processes or systems introduced to the company.
21. Coordinate the development of documentation in the toolmaking areas in line with ISO/ ISO requirements and review of the systems with the Process Engineer/Group Leaders and the Quality department on a regular basis to ensure conformance to same.
22. Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies.
23. Perform additional duties at the request of the Toolroom Manager.
24. 4 years minimum experience in a busy manufacturing environment
