This high-impact role offers exceptional flexibility, requiring onlyone day per week in the officeat one of their locations across Ireland, meaning the job can be performedremotely from essentially anywhere in Ireland.As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the overall commercial health and strategic oversight of a diverse project portfolio. You will ensure strong financial control, contractual compliance, and robust risk mitigation across all operational fronts, leveraging your senior expertise in a highly autonomous environment.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Commercial Control: Oversee and manage the commercial function across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and achieving profitability targets.Contractual Governance: Take the lead on contract review, negotiation, and administration (e.g., RIAI, GCCC, JCT), providing expert advice on interpretation and contractual risk to project teams.Financial Management: Direct the preparation and submission of accurate forecasts, budgets, and detailed Cost Value Reconciliations ( CVRs ), ensuring transparent financial reporting to senior management.Risk Management: Implement robust risk management procedures to identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual exposures across the project portfolio.Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to the Quantity Surveying teams, driving commercial best practice and supporting remote team management.Dispute Resolution: Manage and lead the resolution of complex contractual claims and disputes that may arise.What You'll BringProven Experience: Extensive demonstrable experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in a Main Contractor environment in Ireland or the UK.Commercial Acumen: Exceptional financial management, analytical, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to drive project profitability.Contractual Knowledge: Expert knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts used in Ireland (RIAI, GCCC) and internationally (JCT, NEC).Remote Work Proficiency: Proven ability to manage large-scale commercial functions and teams effectively in a hybrid or remote working model .Communication & Leadership: Outstanding leadership qualities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing high-level stakeholders both remotely and in person.Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
