Swim Lesson Instructors, Lifeguards, and Aides
Foley Public Schools/Community Education is accepting applications for our winter swimming lessons staff and public open swim hours.
Positions available include: swim lesson instructors, lifeguards, and swim instructor aides.
Candidate may work in multiple positions if interested and all required certifications are met.
Positions begin as early as December and run through March.
Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must hold required certifications for applicable positions.
Scheduling
Flexible schedules based on candidate availability and preferred position(s).
Evening and/or weekend hours are available.
Job Descriptions
Swim Instructor / Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross WSI certification required)
Facilitate group or private lessons per the pool curriculum.
Evaluate swimmers for pre-testing, mid-session reports, testing, and end-of-session evaluations.
Work with a swim aide to provide instruction, redirection, and feedback.
Lifeguard (certification required)
Oversee supervision and safety of all swimming groups during lessons, open swim, water aerobics, and pool parties.
Provide water rescue and first aid in case of incident and facilitate required documentation.
Ensure pool and safety equipment are ready for use.
May help a WSI teach a group lesson.
Swim Instructor Aide
Under the direct supervision of the Swim Instructor, assist in group lessons per the pool curriculum.
Help evaluate swimmers for pre-testing, mid-session reports, testing, and end-of-session evaluations.
Manage pool equipment before and after lessons.
