Main Purpose of the role
The Head of IT provides strategic and operational leadership of all information technology functions across Camphill Communities of Ireland (CCoI).
This role ensures that technology systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with CCoI's mission to deliver high-quality, person-centred services.
The postholder will lead digital transformation, strengthen governance and cyber security, and ensure IT acts as a key enabler of organisational performance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement CCoI's IT strategy in alignment with organisational goals.
Provide strategic direction for digital transformation, infrastructure, and data management.
Lead and develop the IT team, promoting a culture of service excellence, accountability, and innovation.
IT Operations & Service Delivery
Oversee the day-to-day performance and availability of IT systems and support services.
Manage IT helpdesk operations, ensuring timely response, resolution, and user satisfaction.
Maintain robust business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
Security, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection, and cyber security standards.
Oversee security patching, endpoint protection, and incident response processes.
Maintain systems audit-readiness and promote awareness of IT policies across all communities.
Infrastructure & Systems
Manage IT infrastructure, networks, applications, and hardware lifecycles.
Coordinate IT requirements for offices and residential communities nationwide.
Oversee supplier contracts, licence management, and cost optimisation.
Project & Change Management
Lead technology projects from design through to delivery, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
Support process improvement and digital initiatives across all business areas.
Partner with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
Reporting & Governance
Monitor and report on IT performance, risks, and budgets to the Executive and Board as required.
Ensure policies, procedures, and controls are up to date and effectively implemented.
Essential
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 8 years' experience in IT operations, service delivery, or IT leadership.
Proven experience leading teams and managing third-party service providers.
Strong technical understanding across infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL principles and IT service management best practices.
Desirable
Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
ITIL 4 Managing Professional or Strategic Leader qualification.
Experience within the not-for-profit, healthcare, or disability services sector
Details of the Role:
Salary Scale: Grade VIII €76,152 - €96,305 (Depending on experience)
Location: Dunshane, Co Kildare, attendance at other locations as appropriate.
Duration: Fulltime 40 hours - Permanent
