Responsibilities
The HVAC Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all site HVAC utilities systems and controlled temperature units perform predictably and continue to operate as required to support manufacturing operations. The engineer also ensures all utility systems conform to regulatory requirements and company specifications. The incumbent supports the implementation of process improvements and enhancements, including scope definition, design, change control and project management, partnering with Quality and advancing projects through Alexion quality systems.
Primary duties include:
Be a system SME for all HVAC utilities and cleanroom cGMP systems across the site.
Primary point-of-contact for HVAC utility projects across the site.
Participate in capital project teams through all phases: conceptual design, detailed design, procurement, construction, installation, start-up, commissioning, and qualification.
Review design documents, commissioning documents, FAT, SAT, SDS, contractor protocols.
Attend FATs as required, inspect and accept utility/HVAC installation.
Support validation with CTU document reviews and investigations.
Support site‑wide energy and sustainability program.
Generate/update SOPs or engineering work instructions as required.
Initiate and complete deviations, CAPAs, and change controls for utility systems.
Support manufacturing and utility operations as needed.
Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance program.
Ensure new equipment is included in plant maintenance and calibration program.
Plan and manage maintenance and shutdown activities.
Investigate system/equipment malfunctions.
Provide engineering and technical support to enhance reliability of utilities HVAC.
Provide SME support for regulatory audits.
Play a primary role in site utilities continuous improvement to ensure compliance.
Perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications
Multi‑disciplined experience in mechanical/electrical/controls.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an Engineering or Utilities / Facilities project role.
Minimum of 5 Years cGMP industrial experience.
Understanding and practical knowledge of Site HVAC Systems.
Understanding and practical knowledge of CTU’s.
Experience in implementing root cause analysis and effective investigation practices in an Operational Excellence environment.
Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.
Demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels with customers, vendors, equipment suppliers and operations staff.
Hands‑on technical experience in Utilities / facilities systems and building management systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent relevant engineering experience.
