Role Description
Analog Devices offers full-time paid Co-op opportunities to 50+ co-op students in Ireland each year. As a Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work with our talented teams of engineers on very challenging work assignments. You will play an integral part in the development of our products. To be eligible for the Co-op program, you must be currently enrolled in 3rd level education.
The Engineering IS Administration team is based at the European R&D headquarters in Limerick and is responsible for managing and supporting the European Engineering Information Systems infrastructure consisting of over 600 (physical and virtual) Linux machines, Data Centers and high-end computational servers. The role includes the provision, installation, configuration and maintenance of related Information Technology systems (hardware & software) for Analog Devices internal customers. The Co-op will also manage the day-to-day helpdesk activities and calls received through the engineering ticketing system thus providing support to Engineering users throughout the six European Design centers.
Basic Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for our customers (engineers) over the phone, email or ticketing system. Perform troubleshooting and run diagnostics (remote or local) to identify the root cause of customer issues.
* Determine the best solution by consultation with the customer and senior system administrators.
* Provide timely feedback to the customer and see problems through to resolution.
* Track and redirect issue tickets to the appropriate support staff.
* Update the relevant ticket logs and record the resolution.
* Monitor and schedule backups, prepare tapes, check logfiles, and restore files for users.
* Engage in the system upgrade program, and deployment of new systems.
* Develop software utilities to aid system automation, data processing and routine task optimisation.
