Application Support Analyst(Requires C# .Net Application Support and Database Support skills)Day Rate 12 months (Potential for perm long term)Experience RequiredMinimum 5 years of experience in application support or software maintenance within a regulated or business-critical environment.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide ongoing application support for a suite of internally developed systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application issues raised by users or system alerts.Enhance existing applications through bug fixes, optimisation, and small development projects.Engage directly with business users to understand functional issues and deliver effective technical resolutions.Collaborate with other technical teams and stakeholders to implement fixes and performance improvements.Document issues, fixes, and enhancements in accordance with internal procedures.Maintain and improve legacy systems developed in VB6 while also supporting modernisation using VB.Net and C#.Contribute to system upgrades, patching, and deployments in collaboration with infrastructure and operations teams.Experience RequiredMinimum 10 years of experience in application support or software development within a financial services environment.Proven experience in maintaining and enhancing VB.Net, VB6, and C# applications.Strong skills in Oracle database support, including PL/SQL scripting; SQL Server experience is a plus.Experience handling user queries, diagnosing system faults, and applying structured fixes in production environments.Familiarity with the full software development life cycle, with exposure to both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Desirable SkillsExposure to accounting, investment, or insurance platforms is beneficial.Experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, JQuery, Knockout JS, and AngularJS.Understanding of data integration using tools like SSIS or DTS.Familiarity with Microsoft Access and VBA scripting for supporting smaller business-critical tools.Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React is an advantage.Educational RequirementsA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.HOW TO APPLY:If you are interested in this role, please apply for this role with your updated CVHow to ApplyTo apply for this role, please submit your updated CV.
