Grants & Contracts Manager
(Business Expansion, Production, Export & BIM Grants)
Overview
We are a growing, vertically integrated seafood business operating across retail, food production, manufacturing, and export markets. We are appointing a Grants & Contracts Manager to lead the identification, development, and delivery of enterprise and expansion-focused grant funding, with a strong emphasis on BIM (Business Innovation & Manufacturing) and Enterprise Ireland / LEO –aligned supports.
This is a senior, part-time, fixed-term role working directly with the founder and senior team. The role focuses on securing non-dilutive funding to support production scale-up, manufacturing capability, capital investment, innovation, sustainability, and export growth.
Salary: €55,000–€70,000 FTE, pro-rata for hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Funding Strategy & Pipeline
* Identify and prioritise relevant funding supports, with particular focus on:
* BIM grants and seafood-sector supports
* Enterprise Ireland and LEO business expansion schemes
* Capital, innovation, sustainability, and export development funding
* Assess eligibility, competitiveness, and return on effort.
* Maintain a structured grants pipeline and submission calendar.
Grant Applications & Business Cases
* Lead end-to-end preparation and submission of grant applications.
* Translate production, processing, manufacturing, and export plans into credible, fundable proposals.
* Prepare business cases, technical responses, innovation and sustainability narratives, and impact statements.
* Coordinate all supporting documentation, declarations, and evidence.
Financial & Commercial Input
* Prepare and review grant budgets, costings, and financial forecasts.
* Ensure compliance with eligibility rules, match-funding requirements, and drawdown conditions.
* Challenge assumptions to ensure applications are commercially realistic and auditable.
BIM & Sector Engagement
* Act as a key point of contact for BIM and other seafood-sector funding bodies.
* Manage clarifications, revisions, and follow-up queries.
* Support post-award reporting, claims, and compliance where required.
Contracts (Limited Scope)
* Manage grant terms, conditions, and compliance requirements.
* This role does not involve legal contract drafting.
Required Experience
* Demonstrable success securing enterprise, manufacturing, or sector-specific grants in Ireland.
* Direct experience with BIM grants or seafood / food production funding is highly advantageous.
* Strong understanding of production-led, scaling businesses.
* High financial literacy and comfort working with budgets and forecasts.
* Excellent written communication, clear, factual, and funder-facing.
* Able to operate independently at senior level.
Highly Desirable
* Experience in seafood, food manufacturing, FMCG, or processing environments.
* Familiarity with BIM, Enterprise Ireland, LEOs, Bord Bia, and capital investment supports.
* Experience with capital expenditure, equipment, or facility-based grant applications.
Contract Details
* Part-time: 16-20 hours per week
* Fixed-term: 12 months
* Location: Remote / hybrid (Ireland)
* Salary: €55,000–€70,000 FTE, pro-rata
