**SMT Manufacturing Engineer Role**
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and support of manufacturing processes and capabilities in a thriving company based in Co. Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
* Programming all SMT equipment, including printers, pick and place machines, and AOI machines.
* Developing oven profiles and programming the oven.
* Setting up PTH manufacturing processes and equipment.
* Interfacing with customers for ideal test equipment/program setup.
* Working with customers on NPI projects to improve manufacturability and complete NPI projects to schedule.
* Incorporating continuous improvement activities based on business objectives and current cost reduction goals.
* Preparing assembly documentation and work instructions.
* Training operatives in assembly procedures.
* Supporting the maintenance team in designing planned maintenance routines necessary for all SMT equipment, and performing critical engineering maintenance tasks as required.
* Providing technical support to production.
* Implementing process controls such as FMEA and control plans as part of the change management process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A Level 8 degree in manufacturing engineering or a similar discipline, or equivalent.
* Experience working with engineering bills of materials and drawings.
* Flexibility to undertake overtime or work on weekends according to business needs.
* Demonstrable working knowledge of SMT components and processes.
* Experience with build planning and stakeholder management.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment, preferably medical devices.
