My client is an emerging leader in Neurovascular care within the Medical Device industry. Located in a European hub for the Medical Device industry, my client collaborates closely with physicians worldwide to develop devices used in endovascular stroke treatment.
Role:
As an Advanced Technologies R&D Manager, you will provide technical leadership in prototyping, early process development, and test lab operations. You will play a key role in designing and developing their technologies. In 2025, there will be significant expansions in their prototyping lab and testing capabilities, which you will oversee, including prototype line setups, equipment identification, and qualification. This role also involves managing the efficient operation of all test labs, including GxP testing and EH&S compliance, and supporting new product development (NPD).
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead prototype and lab engineers/technicians in equipment commissioning, validation, maintenance, calibration, and process development studies.
* Manage technical project resources, set goals, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development.
* Provide leadership to R&D teams in process development, prototype building and testing, data analysis, component and device specifications, materials selection, and process optimization.
* Ensure test labs comply with GxP standards regarding equipment, fixtures, and operations.
* Assess current and emerging process technologies for application in developing interventional medical devices, such as catheters and delivery systems.
* Develop expertise in emerging technologies to facilitate their integration into the organization.
* Serve as the subject matter expert and provide technical guidance on early-stage prototype and process development, influencing design and concept development.
Qualifications Required:
* Qualification in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience in manufacturing and process development.
* Project management qualification is advantageous.
* Extensive experience in the interventional medical device industry, including technical leadership and product development.
