Job Title: Senior Speech and Language Therapist
This is an exceptional opportunity to work as a Senior Speech and Language Therapist in a highly respected Children's Disability Service. We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join our team in East Limerick.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deliver specialist assessment and intervention for children presenting with communication, speech, language, and/or feeding/swallowing needs. They will also develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes in partnership with families and caregivers. Our multidisciplinary team includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, etc.
We are looking for someone with a recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and active CORU registration. A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in paediatrics or disability services, is required. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, supervision, and mentoring skills, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities. Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for children presenting with communication, speech, language, and/or feeding/swallowing needs.
* Develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes in partnership with families and caregivers.
* Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, etc.).
* Provide training, guidance, and support to families, schools, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
* Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Family Support Plans.
* Liaise with community services, preschools, and schools to ensure coordinated service delivery.
* Maintain high-quality clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
* Supervise, mentor, and support junior SLTs and students.
* Contribute to service planning, audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Engage in ongoing CPD and promote best practice within the service.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and active CORU registration.
* 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in paediatrics or disability services.
* Strong leadership, supervision, and mentoring skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
* Proven experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
