Motor Mechanic Job Description:
You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of cars, trucks, and Vans. This role ensures vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance (e.g., oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations)
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and manual techniques
* Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
* Install and maintain batteries, belts, hoses, and other essential parts
* Test vehicles post-repair to ensure optimal performance and safety
* Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
* Communicate with customers about issues, repairs, and preventive maintenance
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment
* Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, and electrical components
* Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Experience of working with BMW's would be a distinct advantage
* Demonstrated experience of engine re-build is also an advantage.
* Prior experience in a workshop or dealership setting is preferred.
