Power Systems Engineer – HV Substations & DC Battery Systems (Field-Based, Cork/Dublin)
Join our client and help power Ireland’s Net Zero future.
We’re looking for a skilled Power Systems Engineer with hands-on experience in high-voltage substations, DC battery systems, or similar large-scale electrical/renewable environments.
You’ll lead maintenance and project delivery of mobile substation infrastructure and critical backup systems nationwide, playing a vital role in keeping the grid resilient and supporting Ireland’s renewable transition.
What You’ll Be Doing:
*
Lead fault investigation, maintenance & commissioning of HV substations and DC backup battery systems
*
Drive delivery of asset health strategies, upgrades, and field projects
*
Ensure grid infrastructure meets the highest safety, regulatory and technical standards
*
Contribute to our client’s Net Zero by 2040 targets through innovative engineering solutions
*
Occasional travel and overnight stays at transmission sites nationwide
What You’ll Need:
*
Experience in power systems, HV substations, renewable energy, or similar fields
*
Strong project & technical leadership skills
*
Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent Trade + experience
*
Knowledge of ATEX, DC power systems, and grid maintenance standards
*
A proactive, hands-on approach to field work
