We are expanding our talented team and currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in our Dublin office.This role offers the opportunity to shape impactful civil projects across residential, healthcare, education, and sports sectors.What We’re Looking For:We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Civil Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take the lead on exciting, diverse projects. You’ll hold a Level 8 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent) and be a Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland.Your Role Will Include:Project Planning & Resource Management: Leading the planning, programming, and allocation of resources in consultation with the Operations Director, and managing those resources throughout the project lifecycle.Quality Assurance: Ensuring all project activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance (QMS/EMS/OHSAS).Regulatory Compliance: Overseeing adherence to legal and statutory obligations, including Health & Safety and BCAR requirements.Financial Oversight: Managing project cash flow, setting accurate invoicing schedules, issuing invoices, following up with clients, and overseeing project debtors.Client & Team Communication: Acting as the key liaison between clients, internal teams, and senior management to ensure alignment and transparency.Project Definition & Scope: Establishing clear project briefs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and securing client agreement on terms and conditions.Programme Management: Developing and maintaining agreed project timelines in collaboration with clients.Team Coordination: Ensuring all team members — including cross-divisional collaborators — understand their roles, responsibilities, and budget constraints (time and expenses).Sub-consultant Management: Ensuring compliance with company procedures for engaging and managing sub-consultants.Design Oversight: Guaranteeing that all designs are prepared by qualified personnel and independently reviewed before submission to the client.Client-Focused Delivery: Ensuring TOBIN delivers precisely what the client has requested — no more, no less — with a focus on value and efficiency.The Skills Required of a Senior Civil Engineer:Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Deep understanding of consultancy and construction contracts, including Public Works Management Framework.Proficiency in project management systems and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.A collaborative spirit and the confidence to ask for support when needed — we see this as a strength, not a weakness.How to Apply:If you are a highly motivated and experienced Senior Civil Engineer who meets the qualifications and skills mentioned above, we encourage you to apply by sending your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience to hr@tobin.ie.Please include “Senior Civil Engineer” in the subject line.
