About The Role
A rapidly growing mechanical services contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join their delivery team. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can drive projects from early planning through to successful handover.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of mechanical project delivery from pre-construction through completion
Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans
Liaise with design, engineering, BIM, procurement, QA, and site teams to ensure coordinated project execution
Monitor progress using internal project control systems and ensure compliance with reporting procedures
Conduct regular site visits to review performance, safety compliance, workmanship, and programme status
Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies
Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including contract administration and performance management
Oversee financial performance, including cost control, cash flow management, and value engineering initiatives
Ensure all works comply with mechanical standards, building regulations, and health & safety legislation
Prepare weekly progress updates for clients and internal stakeholders
Produce monthly commercial and programme reports for senior leadership
Collaborate with directors and senior management to support business objectives and strategic planning
Build strong working relationships with clients and external stakeholders to support repeat business and long-term partnerships
Requirements
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing mechanical or HVAC construction projects at Project Manager or Contracts Manager level
Previous experience as a Project Engineer is highly desirable
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC and process installations
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects simultaneously
Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
Commercially aware with strong budgeting and cost control experience
Comfortable working under pressure to meet programme deadlines
Willingness to travel within Europe as required
Full driving licence
