We provide Retail and Commercial Design Services, Fit-Out and Merchandising solutions to all Retail Sectors .http://johnston-We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to join our team.PurposeTo deliver a comprehensive health and safety function across the business, ensuring full compliance with legislation, client standards and construction regulations (PSDP and PSCS), while actively supporting, advising, and leading on all health and safety initiatives and organisational changes.Main Duties & Responsibilities(this is not an exhaustive list)Ensure systems are in place to ensure compliance with the construction regulations and all other relevant legislation including PSDP and PSCSProvide assistance to Design team with regard compliance with H&S legislationConduct regular site audits and carry out inspections to ensure safe operating procedures are adhered to ensure full compliance with local and national Health and Safety legislationCarry out accidents, incidents investigations and root cause analysis studies and proactively seek to reduce accident statistics across the sitesContinue to develop the company's behavioural safety policies such as safe driving through the company vehicle tracking system and carry out training as requiredSupervise and manage safety and environmental documentation to support the Company's integrated safety management systemReview of the SWP's (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site and review ongoing progress against set objectivesTo support the company tender process and submit all H&S documentation as requiredMaintain focus on workplace safety, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with safe working procedures, control measures identified via risk assessment and COSHH assessmentCo-ordinate the investigation of incidents, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are implementedCo-ordinate the development and delivery of safety training, workshops, toolbox talks and awareness briefings in consultation with the teamsMonitor, evaluate and develop health and safety policies and procedures that ensure compliance with all current legislation, and industry best practiceLiaise with local HSA Executives and other Statutory Bodies where necessaryParticipate in project planning and execution to ensure the health and safety dimension of site projects is fully considered at planning stage and changes are planned and implemented appropriatelyProvide guidance and support in all health and safety related matters and, where necessary, take a leadership role, particularly where the issues are complex or represent significant riskEnsure there is an adequate provision of first aid and welfare facilities across sitesEnsure that site safety inspections and fire drills are carried out, and fire alarms are checkedManage and deliver an effective health and safety induction program for new personnelManage contractors and subcontractors to ensure they adhere to the company's safetystandardsLiaise with the company solicitors and insurers to help defend and advise on ongoing public and employer liability claimsProvide advice on health and safety related matters to management and colleagues, while championing a robust safety culture across all project teams, subcontractors, and office functions.Person SpecificationExperience, Skills & KnowledgeMinimum of 5 years' previous experience of health and safety in a Manufacturing, Construction or similar environmentRelevant Health & Safety qualification, (Level 7 or higher) or related disciplineExperience of PSCS & PSDP regulationsStrong knowledge of Irish & UK construction and Fitout safety legislation and best practiceProven experience in a senior H&S role within Fitout, construction, or a multi‑site contracting environmentExcellent communication, leadership, and influencing skillsAbility to work in fast‑paced, client‑occupied environmentsQQI Manual Handling Instructor certification (advantageous)Occupational First Aid certification (desirable)Full driving licence, with regular travel required to project sites and company locationsJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: €50,000.00-€55,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany eventsCompany pensionEmployee assistance programOn-site parkingAbility to commute/relocate:DUBLIN 12, County Dublin: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In person
