Our client is seeking a Medical Receptionist / Admin for a busy private medical practice based in Cork City.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for greeting and checking-in patients, as well as booking appointments, procedures, surgeries, and radiology scans. You will also take payments and handle billing with health insurance companies. Managing stock and handling deliveries will be part of your duties, along with emailing prescriptions to pharmacies. You will proofread GP letters and prepare envelopes for mailing. The role requires responding to a high volume of emails and telephone queries. Additionally, you will carry out opening and closing duties, including cash reconciliation.
What you'll need to succeed
You must hold a relevant medical secretarial qualification and have achieved an excellent level of proficiency. The role requires great interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative and successfully as part of a team of administrators in the clinic.You need to demonstrate the ability to multitask and enjoy working in a busy environment. Advanced administrative skills are required, and strong attention to detail is essential for the role. You must be capable of producing high volumes of correspondence on a daily basis and have a proven track record of providing excellent customer service. You should be able to handle complaints and troubleshoot emergencies. Experience of working in a healthcare environment would be an advantage. Experience of working with a patient management system would be a distinct advantage.
